International Workshop on Instrumentation and Process Control ( IWIPC),
9-11 Aug 2012, Cochin, Kerala, India
Measurement, computing and control are essential features of any modern instrumentation and control system. The control of processes requires accurate knowledge of process conditions, and this in turn means accurate measurement of those conditions. The ever increasing demand for automation in all spheres of human life has created a large space for research and development in related technologies. Globalization across the nations has resulted in increased competition among technology players leading to improved process control methods, optimum utilization of resources and higher level of automation in all industry sectors.
Modern measurement systems and instrumentation has a role to play in virtually every aspect of life e.g., biotechnology, health care, space exploration, consumer products, manufacturing, building automation, transportation, power supply, agriculture and all other aspects of a nation's infrastructure. We therefore strive to assemble a group of technologists, analysts, and business leaders to investigate the impact of current trends in instrumentation and process control technology on application areas including the electric grid, industry, transportation, medicine, environment, nuclear power, buildings and food processing.
This workshop will cover both fundamental concepts and advanced issues related to Instrumentation and Process Control and will include case studies presented by experts from leading industries.
Objectives
To impart knowledge and information about the latest trends to participants and also to seek new avenues for research and development in Instrumentation and Process control.
The workshop focuses on research, development and applications in the areas of instrumentation, measurement, process control and includes keynote presentations by leading researchers from premier academic/research and industrial organizations coupled with paper presentations.
Areas of interest for paper presentation include, but are not limited to
